Watania International Holding PJSC (formerly Dar Al Takaful PJSC), trading under the ticker WATANIA on the Dubai Financial Market, was established on 23 July 2008 and began operations on 1 September 2008. In a strategic move to expand and strengthen its market position, Dar Al Takaful acquired Noor Takaful in 2020. This was followed by a significant merger in July 2022, where the National Takaful Company (Watania) combined with Dar Al Takaful, marking the creation of one of the UAE's largest Takaful entities. In March 2023, the organization transitioned into Watania International Holding PJSC, shifting its focus towards becoming an investment holding company with a vision to grow its presence in the Takaful and Takaful services sector through Sharia-compliant investments. As part of this restructure, Watania International Holding became the sole shareholder of two operating entities: Watania Takaful General and Watania Takaful Family, positioning itself as a leading Takaful provider in the UAE.
